About IFA Brazil

IFA Brazil is the Brazilian Branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA). It is represented by ABDF – Associação Brasileira de Direito Financeiro, founded in 1949 and based in Rio de Janeiro. ABDF also represents Brazil at the Latin American Institute of Tax Law (ILADT).

ABDF is a national reference in the technical and academic debate on tax and financial law. Its members include lawyers, academics, accountants, public officials and in-house tax professionals from across the country.

Brazil hosted the IFA Annual Congress in 1989 and 2017, and the IFA Latin American Regional Meeting in 2024, all in Rio de Janeiro. ABDF also organizes the International Tax Law Congress of Rio de Janeiro, now in its ninth edition.

Since 2024, ABDF has been chaired by Betina Treiger Grupenmacher, the first woman to hold the position.
